Health, Medical, and Wellness:
PTSD Foundation of America: The PTSD Foundation exists to combat the impact of post-traumatic stress. It provides some counseling and networking service veterans, but it also works to raise awareness about PTSD so that families are better prepared to deal with it. https://ptsdusa.org.
You can also visit the VA’s National Center for PTSD for access to online coaching and mobile apps. https://www.ptsd.va.gov
Lone Survivor Foundation: Lone Survivor Foundation has been helping veterans and their families recover from combat trauma since retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell founded us in 2010. Due to recent events, we have created online programs for those dealing with combat injuries – PTSD, TBI, and chronic pain. https://lonesurvivorfoundation.org.
Alcohol and substance abuse programs: The VA provides effective treatment services for all eligible veterans. Options include therapy as well as medications in some cases. To get help, speak with your existing VA healthcare provider or call 800-827-1000. https://www.mentalhealth.va.gov/substance-abuse
